THE SYNDICATE ENTERTAINMENT GROUP
MICHAEL THELIN, Principal

The Syndicate Entertainment Group (SEG) was founded in 2002 by producer/director Michael Thelin. Based in Los Angeles, CA, the company specializes in brand development television and content, lifestyle entertainment television and content, live concert and event production, graphics packages, commercials, promotional & marketing spots and music videos.

In his roles as producer and director, Thelin is committed to “coloring outside the lines” to create fresh, innovative content that incorporates the best and most advanced technologies in support of his clients’ projects. He is equally attuned to delivering projects on time and within his partner companies’ budget expectations. From breakthrough technologies to more traditional formats including stop motion and live action, SEG is a one-stop shop for 3-D/2-D animation, graphics and post-production needs.

Currently, Thelin is in post-production on the live DVD debut for Grammy Award winning Lupe Fiasco, set for release in 2009. Recent projects include helming a live music program spotlighting rap phenomenon T.I. for the Viacom networks—in support of T.I.’s #1 album Paper Trail—and directing live concert DVDs for the Grammy nominated Paramore (The Final Riot!) and Panic At The Disco (Live In Chicago). The latter two were both 2008 year-end releases on the Atlantic Records label, making Thelin the first director to have a pair of live music DVD releases for major label artists come out in one holiday season. He has previously worked with artists including James Blunt, Gnarls Barkley, Shiny Toy Guns and Simple Plan, among others.

Since Thelin launched the company in ’02, SEG has partnered with broadcast and cable television networks, major music labels, entertainment companies, television shows and top consumer brands including: NBC, ESPN, Fox Sports Net, MTV2, ABC Family, Comcast Sports, CBS (CSI), Atlantic Records, Warner Music Group, Universal Studios, Universal Music Group, Fueled By Raman, the Travel Channel, Procter & Gamble, General Mills, Lionsgate and MLB.

On the non-profit side, Thelin has put his creative energy and vision towards spots and PSAs for organizations including ONE.ORG, MADD, Cystic Fybrosis Foundation and Boys & Girls Club of America.

The Final Riot! is stronger than similar releases by Fall Out Boy (Live in Phoenix) and Taking Back Sunday (Louder Now: Part Two). Few vocalists can rival that talent, and watching Williams lay waste to the crowd is one of The Final Riot!'s many highlights. Longtime fans, here's your payoff after years of support. First-time listeners, here's what you've been missing.

Alternative Press (p.163)

- "There's big, bristling vocal melodies aplenty and clean, grooving guitars that you'll need a scalpel to remove from your frontal lobe."

The video of the concert is well directed, switching between stage shots and cameras placed directly in the audience, so that the viewer gets a perspective of the energy from both perspectives. Perhaps best of all for their fans is the thank you given by Paramore to their followers, which comes across as genuine and appreciative, and is also displayed by this release being more than a quick money-maker. Sure, it won't win any new fans, but for those who buy it they should be happy with the content.

DVD show just what an amazing live band Paramore actually are, and reveal why their UK and US tours always sell out. The Final Riot! seems to be the perfect end to 2008 for Paramore, after Riot! reached Platinum status in US. The abundance of amazing live tracks and up-close-and-personal footage makes this album a must for any hardcore Paramore fan. Get it now!

Production Quality: Great camera views. With amazing view's of the crowd and the band and occasionally freeze-framing for the best parts of the show. Great production quality. Camera quality is amazing. Nice Sound. Can't complain about one thing on this DVD/CD it's simply amazing and it shortens the distance between the band's next album.

Impression: All around a good live DVD with the inclusion of the CD making it that much more better. Although Hayley missed a few notes during some part's of the show. If it were stolen I would hunt that person and torture them to death. I just love this DVD/CD I've listened or watched it at least once every day I just can't put it down!

The package is good; it runs for the duration of the gig, the production quality is amazing and the camera work is highly adept.
